The One Doc Every Brand Needs

Want your brand to feel polished, consistent, and clear? This is where it starts.

Standards might not sound sexy… but they’re the unsung heroes of great branding.

It could be a full-on brand book or a scrappy Google Doc. Having your branding guidelines written down is a game-changer.

No more “Wait, what font do we use again?” or “Is this the right shade of black?” or “Why are there 12 versions of the logo in this folder?!”

Consistency doesn’t have to be hard.

Here’s what to note:

  • Logos and how (not) to use them

  • Brand colours and when they show up

  • Fonts, sizes, and where they belong

  • Key phrases and signature language

  • Layout do’s and don’ts

Also include brand values, personality, voice, and any quirks that make the brand feel like you.

When your team (or future you at 1 a.m.) is on the same page, everything runs smoother.

A little structure goes a long way—especially when you’re moving fast and want to look pro doing it.
