✨ Consistency without Monotony
Consistency doesn’t mean what you think it means. It often gets confused with sameness... But would you wear the same clothes or eat the same food every day? 🤔
Read time: 2 minutes
Consistency doesn’t mean what you think it means.
(Hint: It’s NOT about being the same all the time.)
Let me ask you…
👕 Would you wear the same clothes every day?
🌮 Would you eat the same food every day?
No… but you may have a consistent fashion style and a consistent diet.
Now think brand identity and messaging…
🌄 Should you use the same images all the time?
✍️ Should you write the same words all the time?
No… but you should have a consistent design style and a consistent message.
Staying On Brand 🧐
Brand consistency means keeping everything aligned.
More precisely…
Consistency means these things:
Your Identity → name, logo, headshot, colour, font, imagery
Your Messaging → the main themes of your content
Your Voice → how you say what you say
Your Actions → how you interact with others
Need to tie in nicely with these things:
Your Values → the hills you would die on
Your Positioning → how you stand out from the rest

Sameness Is Snoresville 😴
The uninteresting will be unfollowed.
So mix it up a bit.
Especially starting out when you’re talking into the void.
…be bold.
…be creative.
…take chances.
…experiment more.
…show some of your quirks 🤪
You won’t do any damage by talking about your dog or telling a dad joke.
In fact, this helps you be more relatable and reach new audiences.
It also gives people more opportunities to connect with you on a deeper level.
Just make sure it’s genuine.
…and “on brand” 😉

When I started online, I bought every audience-building product out there.
Guess what?
Complete waste of time.
I only grew fast when I stopped chasing growth and focused on writing well.
Skill will set you apart.
